It is important to draw your attention that the people of Tigray are fighting for survival, peace, liberty, a freedom and self administration. Contrary to the fundamental demand of the Tigray people, Mr. Abiy Ahmed’s government is actively engaged in a vicious hate propaganda against Tigrayans. Tigrayans in Addis Ababa and other parts of Ethiopia are systematically arrested based on their identity. The Ethiopian government is openly committing genocide, ethnic cleansing and Tigrayans are being treated as criminals, merely because of their ethnic background. As well, Tigrayans who arrived from Saudi Arabia are being treated as prisoners of war.
In brief, I demand that:
- all political prisoners are released immediately
- all political prisoners, including Tigrayan generals and high officials have legal representations, medical care and protection in accordance with the national and international laws.
- an independent investigation on the deaths of Major General Fikadu, General Saere Mekonnen, Major General Gezae Abera and others are conducted.
- the blockade and siege on Tigray end immediately
- Eritrean forces withdraw from Tigray immediately.
